I'm with you. Nice video, but it looks like you were shooting about 10 feet in front of you at all times. Reminds me of Platoon at the end, when the guy is running around for no reason and shooting from the hip. LOL sorry if it sounds like I'm breaking your balls, just remember to keep the weapon on safe while you run around like that.

Yes, I know what you mean; accidentally shooting yourself would put an end to a good day of shooting. That's why finger off the trigger when not shooting; you can't see it, but when we were moving, but not taking a shot, fingers went outside the trigger guard.

For making movies, digital camera != (not equal to) real camcorder. And digital camera + movie mode = poor detail.

Again, the movie was a last minute idea, and I promise I'll do better next time, with better visual quality, more visible targets, and less...random shooting for no reason? Yes.

But hey, we can't all be Overkill.

No, but you can try harder!

Ours wasn't exactly planned out either, but I had a real camcorder (The fact that it wasn't digital made things much more complicated than they probably were for you) and could just film everything that happened, taking out the good parts (And where I actually managed to hit things) later.

Great video

I really liked your editing style. The credits were impressive too (obviously, you put a lot of thought and effort into it). Please keep posting more as you get them made!

Thanks .

Unfortunately, I didn't get my WASR like I was supposed to get this last weekend (grrr....USPS ), so alas, no movie. I'll try again next time.

I did get some other stuff, but this isn't the thread for that . I'll post later when I feel motivated enough too.

I think I'll take the Mosin M38 next time and get some gooood fireballs.
As a side note, most production mfg ammo has flash suppressant powders. It helps cut down on loss of night vision in a combat situation. Reload powders are by and large not going to have this and will result in a much nicer muzzle flash for photo ops, esp. if you add a little extra powder and push the case pressures a bit.

Didn't know that; thanks aiformula.

So here's what's up with the new video: there isn't one.

I was supposed to get my WASR last Saturday. It arrived at the local Post Office on Thursday. They never notified my FFL that it'd arrived, and thus, I didn't get it last weekend. Had to have a parent go pick it up for me today, and I won't get to shoot it till Thursday or Friday.

So instead of getting a new gun this last weekend, I got...a new gun safe! It was kinda an impulse buy. A $500 impulse buy??? I must be crazy! Actually, my Dad's safe was 100% completely full, and I had this WASR coming in as well as a Garand on the horizon. He has an FNC getting here sometime soon, and there're a few more long guns I'd like to have. The fact was plain and clear; we needed another safe. So since my Dad already has one, I figured I'd do my part and get one for myself. I figured I'd need one of my own someday anyway.

So here's some pics of it and my guns in their new home, as well as a couple other random pics of stuff (ignore my messy room):

This is the outside of the safe. It's made by Outpost (??? no idea), but it appears to be a very well made safe (on par with the Browning safe right next to it in the store). I kinda think it's a Browning safe that doesn't say Browning on it, actually.

And here's the inside of it; not very big, but I can remove the shelves on the right side and put more guns in it. The gun storage system in this safe is very inefficient, and I'll probably end up building my own racks to go in it.

A closer picture of how the guns are stored. Not very easy access, methinks. At least I can get to the XD and the 870 fairly quickly.

The top storage shelf for my magazines and handguns and their giant, oversized plastic cases...there's no reason for an XD SC to be in a case that big . (Yes, I know it's a generic case to fit any XD; the SC just looks very tiny in it.)

A picture of my reloading bench in complete disarray. I've got about 100 cleaned, primed and flared .45 ACP rounds I need to finish. I'm so lazy though...

And finally, a Bawls, the ultimate gamer drink, and a never-ending font of amusing but immature jokes. I'm sure you know what I mean.

I also, and I hate to admit it, let my XD get a bit rusty this weekend too. Worked outside in the relatively warm weather wearing it in my Answer, hung out all night long wearing it, took it off holster and all and set it next to my bed that night, put it in the safe just before I left for church, and lo', after church, I pulled it out of the safe, and sure enough, on the leather contacting side (left side) of the gun, there was a bit of rust about 2 inches long and 1/4 inch tall going along the raised part of the slide where it meets the frame. I felt really bad, so I treated the gun to a complete reapplication of the crayon inlay, a good hefty coat of Armadillo, and a good scrubbin' and lubin'. Oh yeah, and I cleaned the rust off too. Obviously .

So there you have it; there's less shooting going on in the pictures than in the movie, but at least you can see what the picture is of .

Stay tuned until next time!

nice safe.

Looks a bit empty. Maybe someday I'll get a digicam and take a pic of mine (currently almost full and only 2 months old). Nice start to a collection though, and good thinking on getting one this early. How much it run ya?

I know. Isn't that grand? Means I can still buy more guns. It's actually got 9 guns in it, which I don't think is too shabby a collection for a 22 year old. Plus I got that WASR this week and a Garand soon.

I got the safe at The Sports Authority; supposedly it normally runs $599, but the sale price was $499 (the sale ended the next day). Tax and all, it was almost exactly $525. I figure when I've got a guns that are worth almost that or more anyway (XD: $430, Garand: $400, AR-15: $700-ish), the safe is a good investment.
