Trap shooting
Who all shoots trap? I just started the spring league. it was pretty crappy weather here today. The league follows the ATA rules and started off with a windy day and the birds are hopping (like a frisby in the wind). I pulled a 21 on 16 yds with the first set. The League judge handicapped us back to the 18 yd and I pulled a 22. So 43 for me today with crappy winds, Oh forgot to mention on the last 25 it was raining
Throw up "your" league scores for the day. Mike |

I shoot the clays (not sure if its considered trap, skeet, or whatever) but we dont keep score. There is a place that does the matches and charges like $5 for 50 clays but I'm too busy to go. Last time I was out though I went on a 8 hit streak.

8 bucks a round of 50
Thats what's our club charges. I shoot regularly and i pull a 40+ average each time. Not perfect but reasonable.

I've never officially shot trap or skeet but I love going out and shooting sporting clays. It costs me the 15 bucks for 100 rounds of ammo from walmart and the 4 bucks for the box of 90 clays. The bad part is you have to find someone who is capable of throwing them. Some folks just cant figure out how to use a thrower. I don't get it.

I used to shoot a lot of trap in high school, but haven't shot competition since I went off to college and moved away from the club. I can consistently hit 23-24/25, but have yet to hit 25. I don't know what gives, I just can't seem to get it. And more often then not, that last one I miss is the very last bird. I'm completely serious.

I love shooting trap. Trap led to loving shooting skeet. Skeet led to loving shooting sporting clays.
Shooting 700 - 1000 birds a week led to major shoulder problems. Now I shoot pistols. (OK, I sneak .410s and 28 gauges out for some fun, but don't tell anyone. I found this picture and thought I share it. Young, skinny, and plenty of money for reloading. I miss those days!! ![]()
