Could be - but i know in Vietnam they had the infamous middle finger incident. they said everything the vietnamese wanted them to, but they were flippin them off the whole time.

I think it was another POW that was blinking in MORSE code that he meant none of what he was saying and they were a$$holes (don't quote me, just what i remember, it was on AFN, so it must have been true.)

You may notice that it is just 2 of the men and the woman that are speaking on camera. I'd bet the others are telling them to lick a pigs ass. And probably getting their ass kicked for it.

I agree AKM... they probably bribed them to talk on camera, telling them that they will let them go... and the others probably rejected....like they all should have done.... Its not like they are fooling anybody... its like, " I am here in some crappy iranian jail, and I am saying this on my own free will because I am so good natured..." yeah..

It just pisses me off. I've worked with some Brits, and they've been the absolute picture of professionalism. I'll bet there's some guys in the mother country gritting their teeth right about now.

I understand they're in a very uncomfortable and uncertain position, but come on guys. Man up and do your damned country proud instead of bleating like a bunch of friggin sissies. If it turns out I'm wrong and the scenario above is true, then I retract my statement and accept that I'm a miserable ass. If I'm not, upon repatriation that female and a couple of her male counterparts should be tried by courts martial for rendering aid and comfort to the enemy.
They may have withheld their tea and krumpets.... don't judge them!

I have a neighbor saying "what are we going to do about this?"
My comment is that they are British sailors/soldiers...the Brits need to step up and get some!

I know that the US generally steps in and handles stuff like this, but damn, its time that someone else fights their own battles!

I agree with those that note that those troops should not be saying anything about anything other than name, rank, serial #, and DOB.

Who would have thought that with all the blood shed by England that they would forget the folly of Chamberlain's appeasement ....

Take a look at history folks and it will always reveal the answer. Iran is testing us and our allies to see what we'll do. They've been taunting us for a while now and they've just taken it to the next level. Look at what Hitler did leading up to WWII. He goes and attacks one small country after another to see what the world would do. How many times did Hitler lie by signing peace treaties or saying he was for peace and claiming he didn't want to invade anyone. IE: Poland. Churchill was right and knew what Hitler's intentions were. Ah but the British and many Americans just couldn'y believe that Hitler would do what he did. Thus the massive protests against WWII. Just watch.

Over on one of the blogs I frequent (www.IMAO.us), one of the suggestions on what to do about Iran and the Brits was to just ask Jimmy Carter what he'd do, then do the opposite. Works for me.
