I am doing a new 10/22 build, Actually I am gonna do the Gatlin conversion for the 10/22 I started looking a used 10/22 since I really just need the receivers. I found that people are asking close to new prices for stock 10/22's.

There are tons of people that do trigger work on 10/22's and your local smith probably knows what to do and may save you some money. All my trigger work was done by a local shooter back in Ga that built custom 10/22's for his kids friends that were in 4H clubs. My gun is more accurate than I am (except with the bipod)

I have a friend who built a 10/22 out of exactly ZERO Ruger parts. He pieced it together from companies like:

Volquartsen
Adams and Bennet
Fajen
Power Custom
Etc.

I mean ZERO, not even the receiver (Volquartsen sell souped-up stainless competition receivers). It's pretty awesome but he probably has $1000 in his non-10/22.

Went to Wallyworld in Indiana last night..... I did get there after 10pm though, so the saleslady was so not interested in talking guns with me since she couldnt make a sale, she basically walked away from me when I was at the gun counter looking at the rifles. I turned to her and said "well can't I just drive back in the morning to pick one up"... she stared at me without saying anything and walked away.... friendly folk! I didnt see the one I wanted, and even if I did, I am still going somewhere else, just cause the lack of service there..... I am going to check out Dick's sporting goods today!! Can't wait! Have been looking at all the things already I want to put on it!!

BTW- I have heard that you can make it a full auto 10/22... is this legal??

Yep--they're purty. Paging KOL....pics, please.
Hmmmm..... I just noticed this thread. I must be getting antsy prepping for my move.

Baby OD(top) has a ER Shaw 18" SS barrel with helical fluting, Hogue OD green stock, and a VQ hammer.

Baby Blue(bottom) has a Tactical Solutions 16.5in fluted barrel, Revival Yukon extreme stock, Power Custom hammer, and a Power Custom mount.

Of the 2 different hammers I have installed I think the Power Custom hammers are just as good as the Clark custom and VQ parts. They are a little cheaper and still machined from tool steel. They are about 10$ less. The ER Shaw barrel is extremely accurate and makes me very happy. It is very heavy too. The Tactical solutions barrel is desiged with a regular 22lr chamber, not the Bentz chamber that most of the match grade barrel makers use. The Bentz chamber has been shown to work best with hyper accurate ammo in semi-auto rifles, ie. 10/22s. The TacSol chamber was made for reliability and accuracy. It works with every single 22lr ammo I have tried and still makes itty bitty groups. I have found the ER Shaw barrel likes good quality ammo. The Federal 22 auto match works very well with both rifles.

Total cost for the Blue rifle was 620$.
Total cost for the OD rifle was 450$.

I have a BSA 6-24X50 on the Blue rifle and a Bushnell 3-9X32 on the OD rifle. Both scope work very well for their intended purpose, but the BSA will get upgraded.

It is legal and there are ways to get it. Just takes some time and money. Lots of money.

No im pretty sure it is illegal to convert your own semiauto 10/22 to a full auto. But i know you can buy one that is full auto with the tax stamp and the cavity check by the BATF

Here is my 10/22, Fajen camo stock with Adams & Bennet 18" bull barrel. I have some VQ parts and others to put in just haven't had the time. The A&B barrel's are made by Green mountain so they are pretty nice also. I have a Alpen 3-9x32 scope very nice and clear.

Here is the list of parts I have sitting on the bench at home....

Power Custom Firing Pin
Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor
Volquartsen Hex Head Takedown Screw
Volquartsen Extended Bolt Handle and Recoil Spring Assembly
WeaponKraft Bolt Buffer -- bought from Shooters Discount.
