appears they chose to not publish the names of any cops who held permits.

edited to add.. what they did, was just not release the address of the cops who have permits.. sheriff's office refused to release that data. I can only assume because it's dangerous once someone knows where a cop lives. How about once a stalker or abusive ex finds out where their victim lives?

this stuff is getting way out of control...same thing just happened here in VA. Huge uproar over it. I don't think it will stop until they publish someone's address who has someone "looking to do them harm" and it results in a death.....very sad.

I heard in VA, due to the publishing of the CCW list, some woman's abusive ex did find her. I could be wrong though...

I'm not sure....very possible. There is a reason that the list was only available online for a day or so. It didn't take long for them (and the State Police) to realize how bad of an idea it was to publish all of that info.

in Nebraska the information is confidential.. only to be used for law enforcement. Trust me though, the lincoln journal star is trying hard to make it so they can publish these lists. They don't view us any differently than sex offenders.

Why can't they spend their energy publishing a list of people who have committed armed robbery, burglary, etc? are we more fearful than these people?

I emailed my senator to tell him I want them to strengthen the protections for our names, and make the punishment stronger for anyone who publishes the list.
