An Italian Girl?

A woman goes to Italy to attend a 2-week, company training session.

Her husband drives her to the airport and wishes her to have a good trip.
The wife answers: "Thank you honey, what would you like me to bring for you?"
The husband laughs and says: "An Italian girl!!!"
The woman kept quiet and left.
Two weeks later he picks her up in the airport and asks: "So, honey, how was the trip?"
"Very good, thank you." "And, what happened to my present?"
"Which present?" She asked.
"The one I asked for - an Italian girl!!"
"Oh, that" she said
"Well, I did what I could; now we have to wait for few months to see if it is a girl!!!"

Moral of the story: Don't tempt a woman, they are dangerously intelligent!

Are you from Italy, or just Italian from your parents? Do you speak Italian?

My Parents are Italian, I'm first generation American.
Genitori Italiano, pero nato Americano.
I speak it fluentely. Not as good as I used to though.
I speak it better than I spell it.
Parlo Italiano, ma non molto bene. Tu?

I don't speak it, but that seems fairly obvious: "I was stationed in Italy for 8 years." (Hope I'm correct) "por" is for in Spanish and "anno" is year in Spanish, so it seemed like a reasonable translation.

Ft. Leavenworth is the only other thing I understood besides Rome.

Returning now to the language of English.

Actually stato means stayed, not stationed.
He said "I am (or I was) in Italy for 8 years".
Nice try though.
