question about whittaker guns - XDTalk Forums - Your HS2000/SA-XD Information Source!

ok guys i have given up on gander mountain, they said my xd would be in in two weeks its now been over a month and say they have no clue when their going to get it. now i found my gun on whittaker and but the model number has hc in it, being that i live in new york i was under the impression it couldnt be sent here because of the high capacity in the model number, the guy at whittaker said he just has to send it with two ten round mags instead of the thirteen and it would be legal, is this true?, i called springfield and they said its illegal, someone please help me and could you also give me some other sites besides whittaker guns?

So If I moved to HillaryVille, I could not simply just bring 10 round mags, but have to get a new (if mechanically identical) gun that originaly came with 2 tend rounders? That sounds silly, but it is NY. Check with local XD owners.

I live in NY.
I believe the law is against the high cap magazines, not the gun itself.
I will have an XD45 soon with 10 rounders. All I have to do to get locked up is to be found with 13 round mags in it. Same gun, different mag.
Where are you located in NY?

OK, some good guns stores that way. Try these guys:

Gun depot (www.gundepot.net) located in Pleasant Valley on Rte 44;

Collector Rifle and Ammo, Inc, 1025 Rt 82, Hopewell Jct;

And in Goshen, NY (Orange County) try Davis Sporting Goods at 1230 Pulaski Highway in Goshen (this is where I am getting mine - best price).

Also Monroe, NY - Masterclass Shooting Supplies on Rt 17M

Whittaker's is a local shop for me. They are pretty good people. It's wise to check for yourself though.

As you can see by the thread of people belly aching about local gun stores, you are a lucky dude. Whittaker's has always given me good, firendly, fast service, for amazingly low prices. And their products are always fresh, none of the crap you hear about 2 year old guns that I read about here. I've bought two XDs, and two spare mags from them, they all arrived in 1-2 days. Sure I pay about $20 for shipping, but that is a heck of a lot lower than the sales tax for such a gun in TX.
