Angry Baltimore PD proudly arrests & cuffs a 7y/o boy.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,259155,00.html

What a joke, just the kind of thing a PD with a large inner city population needs to improve its image.

Zero tolerance is the refuge of morons and wimps, kids here have been expleded from schools for completely BS carp thanks to Zero tolerance. Zero tolerance is what wimpy polititians use to look tough on crime, and shift the blame to the cops stuck with enforcing this BS. How about letting cops make descision based on the circumstances and having their superiors and DA back them up, and not cuff, transport, and interrogate a 7 year old kid for riding his bike on the sidewalk. I understand giving the boy a talking to, and even giving his mom a good talking to, but this is just senseless.

I don't think it is senseless at all. The dumbass was riding a motorcycle on the side walk.

This sounds like it is an issue there where people are riding motor vehicles on sidewalks. He's an idiot, and so is his parents.

My children shouldn't have to duck and dive from a 7 year old riding a motorcyle on a sidewalk.

OMG! Get real dude! The kid is 7 years old!

It must suck to lead such a sheltered life.

7 year olds riding motorcycles on the sidewalks of the city is llegal, period. When I was 7, I was slapped by a police officer for sassing. Different generation, different values obviously.

Dragging him cuffed to the station and interrogating him? I understand what he did is wrong, we have kids in my neighborhood too, I understand bitching him out, and bitching and fining his parents. I do not understand cuffing, and processing a 7 year old like if he was an adult. I have seen kids do a lot of dumb things like this in my life, I've seen parents bitch them out, and I have seen cops bitch them out, but I have never seen cops arrest, cuff, transport, and interrogate them. If the mom was a problem then arrest her butt.

This kid got a bit rougher treatment than a slap. My 5'1" wife can controlled troubled kids at school better than the Baltimore PD.

Yea, but he could have killed somebody too. I understand it seems harsh, but a message has to be sent. At what age is it appropriate to bring in a child? I have no idea, my cultural background is very different than most. I can see the value of it, and I understand your more tolerant views as well. Ideally, I would catch my own child, and handle it from there. But if I received a call from the PD, I would think that was a lesson learned also. Perhaps I am harsh with my children then. I never thought of it that way.

I Do Believe It Did Go A Bit Overboard, He Is A Minor An Extremely Young One At That, And At That Age They Really Dont Know The Difference Between What Is A Law And What Is Not, Why Are We Looking At The Kid, When The Parent Should Have Been The One Being Cited, I Dont Believe That Should Have Been An Arrestable Offence. I Can See Your Point To An Extent Hellagerms, But Being It Is A Different Mind Set And Generation As We Do Evolve, How Would You Feel If They Did That To Your Kid? Me I Would Be P.o. I Am The Parent, I Am Of Legal Age And His Guardian If You Have An Issue With My Kids Take It Up With Me No Them.

i have to agree with this. at seven, the whole dragging to the satation thing is unnecesary in my opinion. yeah, def scare the kid, fine his parents etc. but just let him sit in the police car for a few minutes, dont treat him like a gangbanger.
