My parents bought an Odyssey ('06?) and love the thing--their previous vehicle was a full-sized Chevy conversion van that they used to haul around all us kids. I've ridden in the Honda a couple times and found it to be very comfortable, roomy, with more cupholders than I can ever see needing. Engine power and the build quality are very good, also.

My wife and I are just thinking of starting a family, so the Honda CR-V we bought two years ago is fine for now. It's technically a compact SUV, but I think of it more as a high-roofed wagon with a little extra ground clearance. It runs reliably and gets good mileage which are the important things right now, but someday I'd like to own a rumbly toy again.

As a grown man, I despise riding in mini-vans for longer than 20 minutes. The more people in the back, the worse.

We got a minivan when my wife and I were 27 with 2 kids. We both felt really old. My wife said this was the first time she felt like she wasn't in college anymore!

Now... I love it and so does she. It is the most practical thing in the world.
+ Pluses: Roooomy, everything fits, comfortable, drives like a car, gas mileage,
- Negatives: You look like your parents, looks, appearance, social standing, ect.

All in all when you get past being self-conscience and the snickers, it's a great thing!

Ill NEVER drive a mini-van, EVER. I would seriously drive a small SUV before a mini-van if we had kids, but thats a few years in the future. The wife could drive the SUV, and I could have a car. Really, as long as I have a weekender, I dont care what I drive during the week

I hear that. What is the point of sticky tires, wicked suspensions, racing brakes, engine mods to be stuck in rush hour traffic. I rather use my truck for this, and save the fun car for trackdays, AX, or just plain back road driving.

Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9.

I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

HDR, Homeland Defense Rifle

I drive a mini-van and am still cool. 2005 Ford Freestar.

So far, have had no problems with heckling from others.

Oh, it also has a bumper sticker on it that says "Honk if you've never seen an Uzi fired from a moving car"

Add rallyX into that too. I use my Subaru as it was intended

Have you bought a house yet? I came to the realization that I was no longer in college when we bought our first house.

Ugh!

Sorry, but the wife and I decided, we may be getting old (early 40s) and now we have a kid, but we are NOT driving a mini-van.

With only one kid, we do NOT need a behemoth SUV that guzzles gas (been there...got rid of that) or a vehicle that (sorry) screams "weenie" like a mini-van. Many people have kids and instantly think they HAVE to have a mini-van or Expedition. Not true.

Enjoy your mini-van...I just cannot bring myself to drive something that looks like that.

- Brickboy240

PS: other things we will never drive:

"Crossover SUVs" (great, now our SUV has no off-road capabilities, cannot pull anything and gets 1-2mpg better mileage! Wheee!)

Luxury SUVs (Escapades, Navigators, Land Rovers...silly looking gussied up trucks that eat too much gas, too damn shiny and are outrageously expensive...the "look at me, look at me!" vehicles)

Honda Element (ugly...just too damn ugly)

Scion Xb (looks like clowns ought to be riding this thing in a circus)

Buick Rendezvous (ugly mini-van-ish and its a GM)

Mustang or Camaro (what are we...in high school? Cool when you're 20...silly when you're 40)
