I hate to argue, but I didn't see the father do anything wrong. The gun was always pointed in a safe direction, his hands were holding the gun over his son's hands. It seemed perfectly safe to me. There is nothing wrong with a father passing on his love of shooting to his son.

Correction: No eye protection. Send the bastard to prison.

I agree with you Trovan, I don't see anything wrong with it at all. I'm not sure at all why anyone would think this would lead to darwin awards, more likely someone that keeps their guns hid and secret from their kids that will make the darwin awards when the kids get curious and get into them. I say if dad is holding the gun letting JR. pull the trigger then more power to him. It's not like he's letting the kid on the firing line by himself. I'm suprised people here are down on him, that's what I would expect on the DU.

Maybe I'm missing something here though. Just how is the kid in danger with the dad holding the gun and him just pulling the trigger? Maybe some think this will lead the kid into a life of crime by getting him comfortable around guns. In my experience it's just the opposite, but what do I know. I only raised 2 that have their own kids now.

I find it wrong because the kid doesn't even seem old enough to know what's happening. Hell, it appears he just recently started walking. Teaching young, uhhhhhh, but at least wait until they understand what you're trying to teach.

I don't know, I just think there's way too many morality police saying something's wrong when it poses no danger. The kid's not in danger, so who's to say it's wrong?

One important thing that i saw there, it showed the kid a reason to be afraid of guns, and he should be. Kids who dont have that fear and respect for them are the ones that wind up shooting their friends or siblings.

Granted the child doesnt seem like he was that interested in it (because he was so young), there was nothing wrong with what the father did.
