I have a hypothetical question for you guys...
Let's just say, tomorrow, there are no NFA laws for FA guns. You can walk in to your local gun store and buy FA, SBR or supressed rifles, pistols, or whatever.
Hypotheticaly.... Do you feel that a manufacture would offer a full auto AR for the same price they sell for today, or would the price only be a few hundred dollars more than their semi auto rifles? I believe that they would still be several thousand dollars more than the semi auto options. Why would any company want to leave that much money on the table if they were readily available to the general public? Your thoughts?

I think it would be significantly more, yes.

Even if they were egal, you would be paying for them.

Why wouldn't you just get a parts kit to turn your AR15 into an M16? They're available already, and for not a lot of money... Not including the tax stamp, of course.

I'm sure there would be plenty of conversions going on and that would proally be the most cost effective way.
I just don't think you'd be able to walk in to a shop and plop down 1400 bux and walk out with a FA rifle.

Supply and demand. If there were no NFA/GCA laws prohibiting the manufacturing of FA, the price would drop drastically.
It probably would result in prices near or slightly above semi-auto pricing. The manufacturers would rather sell an unlimited number of units at lower prices, instead of a few units at the rediculous prices now.

I'm thinking they'd be slightly more expensive but definately not $14,000 for a new M16. It'd probably be more like $2,500 for a Colt or similar name brand.

Select fire would become the standard. I dont see why they would make a semi-auto any more. Easier to just produce one product.

I agree.
I am sure makers of parts kits and ammo would welcome the change too. Quote:

As long as the parts don't cost a whole lot more for the automatics they wouldn't sell for much higher than current semi-auto guns. If competitors can start selling a comparable product at a lower price and still earn a profit, you are going to have to keep lowering prices. I'd love if they kept their prices high, because I'd start making them and sell them for $1000 and just about everyone here would probably buy one.
