It all depends on what you consider a good deal. We ar ea dell househould with 3 laptops and the prices have all been in the range we accept.
They allso have a refurbised area that is frequently overlooked and the same warrenties apply. Only problem is that they are all shipping with VISTA now..ugggg. hate it.

Check with TigerDirect.com or CompUSA. I've always had good luck with both of them. You need to go in to a CompUSA to get all the rebate deals they have.

I've been a Dell fan for awhile now, and I just picked up the new e1505 from their website with customizable options for $750. It came with the new Vista OS, which is awesome, I don't care what others have said. Gorgeous, runs smooth, and with lots of sweet new features. Has yet to crash on me, it was slow the first few days getting started with new drivers and all...but have no qualms whatsoever now.

If your employer has a corporate account with Dell, HP, or any of the big names, they may offer an "Employee Purchase Program". You usually get a 10% discount off the typical price and other freebies (ie automatic free shipping).
Also, CostCo has pretty good prices if you want an "ala carte system." |

I really love Dell computers! I'd suggest looking at the machines available from the Dell Outlet. The Dell Outlet offers refurbished and "scratch and dent" machines at /drastically/ reduced prices! I purchased my laptop through the factory outlet and saved about $800, but the amount of savings varies and depends on the cost of the laptop (I geeked mine out and it cost about $1800, it was $2600 when I priced it out new). Another nice thing about the Dell Outlet is the machines are already assembled and ready to ship.
The inventory at the Dell outlet is updated almost constantly, but you can take a look at the offerings now to get an idea on pricing. Then, when you're ready to buy, you can start watching for the machine you want. More info about the Dell outlet is available here: http://www.dell.com/content/topics/s...=us&l=en&s=dfh \\ACB

If your looking for a particular brand....Stay away from HP, Compaq, and dell. All junk IMO. FOr the Money, Medion os the best. If you can afford it go with Alienware, but you might not need that high end. Otherwise go with Tosheba(sp?). IMB is not even owned by an american company now if you were not aware of that. But honestly the big three "american" (At least thats how many view them) brands are junk. I also Like e-machine. But it all depends on how much you can spend.
From least expencive to most. E-Machine (I own a desktop, and It was the best bang for the buck I could have ever dreamed of getting) Medion (I own two of thier laptops, and they have the best customer service ever) Tosheba, My father uses them for work (nationawide insurance), they swiched to these from IBM, after IBM changed ownership. Great workhorses. Alienware... Very high end. But many dont need the cutting edge stuff. |
