NIKE is ANTI-GUN

So as a classic sneaker aficionado, I'm designing some custom colors on the Nike website. There's an option for custom wording on the sneaker design as well. So out of curiosity i type in gun related terms. Sure nuff, it filters/bans gun related terms, kicking you out to type in another selection. While reviewing their policy on custom lettering they mention their right to filter terms they that simply "don't want associated with their company". So my custom sneaks can say "peace", but they cant say "AR15".

I believe they got their start either in Washington state, or Oregon. That probably explains it. Typical left coast liberalism.

excellent point. I stopped buying Nike and started buying New Balance because they are one of the only shoe manufacturers that still make a product in the USA.

With the way they're marketing their product lines more and more in the direction of the hip-hop/rap/thug crowd, I wouldn't be surprised if they're just trying to keep Yo Yo McShizzle from ordering stuff about his G-Nine, the Bloods, Cryps, and "busting caps" on his shoes.

Or they could be anti-gun--it wouldn't surprise me, either.

I was a guest at the Nike world headquarters in Portland (Well, just outside Portland) last fall. They seem to be pretty cool, but they are uptight about some things. Not only do they not allow smoking in/around the buildings, they don't allow it ANYWHERE on the grounds. Not in the parking lot, not inside your car... Nowhere... It made for a long day.

It wouldn't surprise me if they are anti-gun. They are a pretty liberal, young (personell-wise) company.

Hey-hey, easy there. Washington State is not some nutty liberal state. They're a lot more gun-friendly than most other states. The only west coast liberal state that fits your criteria is Kommiefornia. No reason for Oregon and Washington State to be catagorized with it since they are not like Kommiefornia at all, thank goodness.

Nike, Target, and a few other big companies out there are anti-gun. I can easily not buy Nike. I can also not shop at Target. Problem solved. Boycotting can be fun.
