GPS Help

I'm looking for a GPS unit. I'm not up to speed on the what's out there. I know I'd like to to have base maps of all major and minor roads as well as lakes, streams and rivers. I'd also like to spend less that $200.00.

What's out there? What do I need to know?

I don't think you will find a GPS for under $200.00. I bought a Garmin last July and it was $700.00. You can updated it online when they have new maps. I have been far as Columbus, OH with mine getting ready to drive out to Lansing, MI in a few weeks. Its cool to drive around in a place you don't know and not get lost.

I've had a Lowrance IWAY 500C for a year now. I like it allot. The big screen is best for these old eyes.

I have a Magellan eXplorist 400, and it's been great to me...maybe check out www.tigergps.com (where I ordered from), they have some good prices IMHO.

I have a Garmin handheld and love it. You really get alot more memory (more areas in the system without constant uploading) with the more money you spend.
