Torque Wrench
A friend of mine gave me a old clicker style torque wrench, I have the dial type but this one you apparently twist to set the problem is I am not sure how to set the torque on it, the range is 20-200"lbs it has a line down the center with hash marks to the side sound simple huh, well the hash marks on the side go straight out then up at a angle then go out again towards the number so do you use the lower hash mark or the upper one that partly covers the number

There should be a line on the part of the handle that twists. You have to line that up with the vertical line on the scale. Wherever the "hash marks" meet the center line, that is where the top of the grip should be for that specific number. Most of the hash marks will have 5 ft lbs between them, there should be 5 smaller graduations on the twisty part of the handle, that is 26, 27, 28, 29, etc.

Lower, there should also be numbers on the handle(twisting part) in 1# incriments (at least on mine there is). Thats the reason for the higher 'hash' marks, 70 is between 60 and 80, so how would you visually reference half way if the 60 was covered??

On all the click style I've used is a mark on the top of the rotating handle indicating the torque value it is set at. On the bottom of the handle there is generally an symbol indicating what direction you need to turn the handle to lock or unlock the adjustable part. For example, on mine you turn it clockwise to unlock it so that you can adjust the torque value, and then once it is adjusted you turn it counter clockwise to lock the current torque setting. If you could find a manufacture or a model number on the wrench it would aid in giving more model specific directions.
