Looking for a little advice
So, Ive been thinking about my wedding coming up, and heres the thing... Im musically talented, proficient in writing, blah blah. So, when it boils down to it, my fiancee asked me if I would sing/play instrument (I play a few) at our wedding or reception, and I said no. Well, Ive honestly been thinking about it, and I have some written music that just needs polishing...
My question really is, would it be cheesy to play her a song, one that I composed in less than 5 minutes at the reception? It would be a surprise to her. I know she would appreciate it, but Im concerned about what everyone else would think. The only real reason I ask is because a wedding we went to in March, the bride sang a song to the groom, and it was generally accepted as faux pas by some people that were there, and thats not what Im looking for here. Ok, fire away!

I would say it's your wedding, who gives a rats ass what anyone else thinks. If your woman would like it then go for it! At least thats what I think-

You know I think it would be a great idea. After all I know that many women eat that kind of stuff up. When my wife and I were dating a gizillion years ago I wrote alot of music....even some for her. she loved it. When we renewed our vows at 10yrs. I sang to her as well. It was great.
I say "DO IT!"

Dude, that's pimp. Do it! That's somethin she's gonna remember. Quit thinkin and do it. Haha, most of us guys who don't have musical talent wish we could pull of somethin like that.

If your reception is anything like mine, no one will remember it. DO IT UP!

As bd will attest, the reception will be completely sober. Its in a dry county! I think this has pretty much put all my fears to bed on the issue

Yeah, if it means alot to her, do it. It will get you're relationship off to the right start. I'd say to spend more than 5 mins on it though.
As far as all the other people go, don't worry about it. They're not the ones you'll be hoping to get "road head" from 10 years from now, she is.

When I sit down to write, there is absolutely no thought process involved. I have written some of my best work in 10 minutes or less. Now, the polishing might take months
