Multiple calibers or stick with the same?

Opinion - Is it better to have most of your hand guns in the same caliber or many different ones?

What do you guys think?

I've thought about this too. I really want a sc but don't know if I should go .45 or stick with .40 because of my service.

I think it is a personal choice that each individual has to make. Let's face it, sometimes you see one that you just can't pass up, preferred caliber be damned!

I have opted for multiple calibers for the simple reason of my desire...the desire to have the .45, the desire to have the .40 and 9 mm....although the desire with the 9 mm is more cost focused. I have ordered a conversion barrel for the .40 service simply for cost of ammo. I don't think it will take me very long to pay for the barrel based on how many rounds I have been burning lately.

Personal preference. I just always stick with .45's I guess its a mental block or something, but I always feel undergunned with something smaller than that.

I like a little variety. My next gun will be a revolver(caliber unknown) or a 9mm sc. I guess I'll know when the time gets here.

As others have said, personal preference. I like 9mm for handguns. I have a Beretta 92F and, with a mod to the mags, I can use them in my XD (if need be). For a SHTF scenario, I find it better to stock 9mm, versus stocking multiple types.

+ 10 on the personal preference. Just remember you can only shoot one, well maybe two at a time. One guy I know swears by just one caliber 9mm and Glock. KISS rule for him and ammo is cheap. You practice with one type of gun, grip angle and it's cheaper.

I wouldn't mind consolidating calibers but not sure I would sell my S&W 686 357 Mag, either of my XD's, Beretta 9mm or 1911. Let's just say i'm not going to add calibers any time soon. Got it covered with 9mm, 357 Sig, 357 Mag and 45.

I have recently sold everything i had down to just one caliber per type of weapon. I have 12 gage, 5.56 and 45. i just cant afford all the different calibers of ammo.

Anything new will be i those 3 calibers.

I keep saying I should do th same but I like to be diversity too much I guess. And because of this, I own less ammo than I probably should. Back when I had less calibers, I always had lots of surplus ammo.
