Just your average thread hijack!!!!

I had a teenage or early twenty something hispanic girl come by my house last weekend that was "selling" the local newspaper, I already get the newspaper. Why would they, the news paper which is a large newspaper, send young people door to door to people that already subscribe to their paper... this kind of stuff makes me wonder if they are casing the joint. I always close the wood door behind me and open the security door, my 25lb Llasha Apso that sounds like a much bigger dog is barking like he is about to eat through the wall in the background....usually keeps them moving.

We get all sorts like that, from the paper to lawn service, to the kids that will paint our address numbers on the curb for emergency purposes, to kids from somewhere USA selling magazines to raise money for their college, I did put my 38 in my pocket with that guy. Can't be to cautious.

My house is a sanctuary for myself and my family. No one but close friends and family are permitted to enter my home. Period. If you are standing on my front porch bleeding to death, you are standing out there while you wait for the EMT's. There is no good reason to go and ask to use a stranger's bathroom. I would $hit my pants before walking up to a random house and asking to use their bathroom.

I have had a few people to ask to use the phone, and I always point to the pay phone across the street. I had a group of drunks come up to my house and ask to use the phone. They said their car was out of gas. Why did all three of them have to come to the door? Common sense tells you that a larger group of people will have a tougher time getting someone to help you out after dark than if you are by yourself. I answered the door with the Sig in my hand, resting at my side, and stayed inside the door as I spoke throught the screen. They saw it immediately and said "holy $hit man, we just need to use the phone". I politely pointed to the pay phone across the street. They told me they had no change. I told them that I would call the police to assist them. They wanted NO part of that and left immediately. Interestingly enough, they went and got in their car and left. Hmmmm. Where did the gas mysteriously come from?
