The Official Zombie Thread
Okay Okay...I got this idea from the survival thread and figured, since it's so close to Halloween let's have a little fun.
It's a zombie invasion folks...they are everywhere. If you're bit, you die within 72 hours and become a zombie. The only way to kill them is to remove the head or disable the brain. These zombies are slow moving unintelligent zombies ala Night of The Living Dead (rather than fast moving "predatory" zombies ala 28 Days Later). This is a full scale outbreak, Police and EMS are overrun, the national guard is stretched to the limit across the country...what do you do? Your neighbor has been bitten and is begging for your help, do you take him with you hoping for the best? Abandon him to die? Or put one between his eyes and spare him the horror of becoming a mindless drone of putrid flesh? Where do you go? What is your weapon(s) of choice? Have fun!

I'd be pumping slugs and buck shot out of my 870 as fast as I could reload. An 1187 would probably be more efficient, but something about a pump action shotgun just seems right.

This forum doesn't have enough bandwidth for my "freak-out" plan... but I'll summarize. Kill anything/anyone that's been infected. No questions asked. Help people as long as they pull their own weight. As far as locations, provisions, etc etc.. that's classified.

Do you have a phase rifle with a 40 watt range?

First of all my neighbor would die a quick death and then i would gather my well prepared stash including my mossberg 12 across my back, my ar15 across my strong side as my primary and(2 of my) handguns on my hips. I would also have my tacticle vest so that i have as much ammo possible in reach and my duffle that i keep in my garage full on my spare ammo. I know I would be slow, but effective. And don't forget what ever my wife can handle which would be a couple of handguns and her sure shot placement ( hopefully the same under Zombie pressure).

Zombie SHTF is my SHTF fantasy.... seriouasly, I actually had a dream myself and some friends and family were held up in a farm house durring a zombie outbreak...
I'd be thinking my 10,000 +/- rounds of .22lr I had would be woefully understocked for starters. My SHTF planning for zombies is 10k or less and at a pace my .22lrs can keep up. After all, I'd need to save the big bore stuff for the roving biker gangs.... not to mention that since shot placement is key to killing zombies a .22lr to the head is just as good as a .308... Ahhhh... life would be good if zombies roamed the earth for a few days... Not forever, just a few days... it'd weed out al those non gun owners and sheeple pretty quick |
