Thats a big negative on that one. You ever used a super soaker as a kid? The damn thing leaks all over your hands. So if you are willing to have scorched hands just to kill a zombie, thats all you man

Flamethrowers are cool and all but fire isn't going to stop a zombie. The only way to "kill" one is to destroy the brain.

In a zombie scenario, there are 4 things you worry about, in order of urgency:

1: Prevent yourself from being bitten.
2: Find clean water (We don't know how this thing transmits).
3: Find shelter (Depending on the weather outside. In winter, you need shelter.)
4: Find clean food (Again, maybe the disease came in from food.)

In preparing for this eventuality, my friend Gunny and I have debated long and hard over where our escape plan should lead us. Obviously, his first move is to my place to load up the arsenal. Then we hop in the truck and plow through zombies to our destination. Ideally, we head for the hills of Bath County... Rural zombies are easier to deal with, especially when you can see them coming for 180 acres. Failing that, and we're stuck in the city, we argue over whether to head to Wal Mart or Lowe's. We narrowed it down because both facilities have fairly strong doors and whatnot... surveillance... and limited access. You pretty much only have to worry about the front of the store... you know, in case zombies know how to break glass. You also have access to the roof, which is good for ditching.

He chooses Wal-Mart because, obviously, you have a ton of food and drink, as well as a decent supply of guns and ammo.

I choose Lowe's. My first concern is creating a haven safe from zombies. Lowe's has building materials. Lots of them. As well as power tools. You can bolster the security in the building to be sure none of the nasties come through, AND you can create little "funnels of death" that funnel any baddies that do get in into one line of zombies... and then make use of the power tools to create booby traps and make some serious zombie crushing upgrades to the truck. Lowe's also has the big office water jugs (As well as water purification equipment) and some basic food... Beef jerky is sold up front, and there are vending machines for junk food in the back.

The combination of base-building and availability of zombie-fighting staples such as chainsaws, nail guns, and lawn mowers, leads me to firmly cast my vote for Lowe's vs. Wally World.

Besides, Wally World is one of the most crowded places on Earth, and that means there'd be more zombies there to start with.

The company I work for has a under ground commuicatins station that is not in use anymore. This thing is like a bunker with decontamination showers, blast doors and food store rooms. I would make a stop by a gunstore or a walmart and take all the ammo I can get for my guns listed in my signature as well as food and water. I would gather up my family and trusted friends and go to the bunker and wait it out.

Now thats thinking in the right direction, but like they said earlier, i think it would be a good idea to start stocking it with MRE's now. 10 years is alot of food and time when your trapped underground with no entertainment except field stripping your weapons and a few old porno mags.

Found a zombie prep kit, should cover all the firearms/ammo considerations. After that you just have to think about location, food, sanitation, and entertainment.

Overkill, you may have just answered a question I have long asked...every time I go into our local superwalmart I ask myself "where do these freakin' people come from? they certainly do not live/work/recreate anywhere where I go"... They are freakin' ZOMBIES!...all of the sudden...it becomes quite clear!

The stop at walmart to take ammo, food and water would also allow for some entertainment items like TV's, dvds, game systems, books and items such as cots, backpacks/duffle bags knives and a whole slew of other things. Just have your party split up and have different assignments on what to get. if you started running out of food I guess you could get a party of people to get more. There is also a garage next to this underground station with a snowcat and trailer inside. There will be room for a few vehicles and gasoline too. This place is awesome. Too bad zombies will never happen. Terrorists on the other hand...

Walmart would be a mess unless you lived next to it and could get in before everyone else.

Remember the looting in New Orleans during and after Katrina?
