Amen, advertising social and personal irresponsibility as anything glamorous is unethical and is damaging to peoples subconcious, no different from kiddie porn. Just like gun shops don't allow "gangsta" actions on the range because they don't want real firearms associated with that behavior, this gun forum should frown upon other idealized improper uses. Ie if someone actually used their shotgun as a bong, and the round cooked off and killed them, we'd post up, that they were an idiot, not suggestions that we should all use out shotguns as a pipe because its cool. Though we might in sarcasm make fun of them. (can anyone tell me what show I got that from?)
For instance I can't abide people saying "I'd whoop his @$$) when talking about a 3 year old just doing something silly. Now striking my wife? He'd end up on his back with a very angry husband informing him he had never raise his hand to my wife again. But people saying whoop him even in joke is so prevalent that some view it as acceptable behavior. I condone spanking, but I don't condone what usually leads to whoopings, allowing the kid to go so far unpunished that it becomes the only way to regain control.
