I thought it was pretty good. Although, after Packers original warning it may have lessened the disapointment I might have had with the movie. It didn't seem to be anti-war or some other leftist garbage.

I did think it did take to task the idea of how celebrity is created, and how fleeting fame can be.

None the less, even if the Flag raisers or any WWII vet (or any vet for that matter) doesn't see themselves as heroes, they may see it as just doing a job, but for those of us who have actually benefitted from their sacrifice do see them as heroes and are the only link that we have to those that have sacrificed their lives.

I've never been in the military. Was too young for the first gulf war and to old and fat for this war. I may not have any idea what combat is really like, but I do know this I'M THANKFUL FOR ALL THAT HAVE SERVED THIS NATION.

Go and see it for yourself. NOT a renter

I thought it was a great movie. although I went in knowing the subject matter. The trailers make it look like a Saving Private Ryan type flick. It is about the battle for Iwo Jima, but interwoven with the post conflict stories of the surviving flag raisers. I though it was slendedly done, the way Eastwood melded the war scenes with the post war stuff. A very moving experience.

The great thing is this is the time of year that best in story driven dramas come to the big screen, so it is only going to get better for movie fans. We've already had The Black Dahlia,The Departed, and Flags of Our Fathers. I can't wait to see the prestige, Marie Antoinette, Babel, Catch a Fire, and, while not a drama, Casino Royale!!!

it was ok, kind of a let down, i thought it would be more of a saving private ryan flick,

i didn't like all the flash backs it skipped around to much for me, i like a more linear scrip when it comes to war movies
