Band Of Brothers, Saving Private RYan, Enemy at The Gates come to mind. Black Haw Down was pretty good too.
What was so bad about Seals, except for any scene involving Charlie Sheen that is.

Das Boat - best submarine movie out One of my favorite war movies is an older movie but has a very good cast: "A Bridge to Far", Gene Hackman, Sean Connery and so on. I thought God's and Generals and Gettysburg were very well done, but I don't watch God's and Generals in one sitting anymore, to long. Has anyone seen a movie called "By Dawns Early Light"? It was a movie about a B-52 bomber and I thought it was excellent also, but I've never been able to find it at stores after I lost it. Other Favorites: The Patriot Glory (excellent movie) Saving Private Ryan We Were Soldiers (surprised no one mentioned this, my favorite Nam movie) Last edited by nightraider; 10-21-2006 at 12:15 AM. |

I think the worst would have to include Windtalkers (I think?), about the Navajo code talkers in WWII. It starred Nicholas Cage. Absolute garbage, some of the worst acting I've seen.
I love a lot of the ones mentioned, but I didn't see Midway on anyones list. I always liked that one. Good movie, and based on fact. Edit: I do remember "By Dawn's Early Light". From what I remember it was pretty good. Nukes, bombers, and fightin' commies. There aint much to beat that. Last edited by HokieMS; 10-21-2006 at 01:28 AM. |
