How does it carry

I am looking at buying the XD 40 cal or the Glock 23. Whatever I buy I plan to carry. I know the XD is a tad bigger. Do you carry your XD? How does it carry?

Its not bad to carry an XD with the right holster. I can carry mine in an IWB with a T-shirt in the summer.

I carry the XD40 4" service on duty in a Blackhawk CQC duty holster. Comfortable to carry all day. If I'm going to concel carry, I don't take the XD - too big and doesn't cover as well as the Taurus PT111 Mil Pro 9 mm (3" and a lot lighter and smaller) with an IWB holster.

Talking

I carry a Glock 31 on duty and sometimes off. The majority of the time off duty though I do carry my XD-40 Sub. Both guns are great I love my Glock as much as my Springfield. There are things I like about one over the other and visa versa as they say.

Both guns are easy to carry just like ichy_trigger said, as long as you get the right holster. Quality counts when it come to holsters.

I’ll tell you this one too. The belt is also a big part of it. I recently purchased a Gould and Goodrich gun belt that is designed for carrying. It really makes a difference.

I have a G 32 that I love! Easy to conceal with the right holster. I use a Milt sparks summer special 2. It' a great holster but it takes them a while to make em. I wasn't willing to wait for my 45 tac so I got a comp tac CTAC. Had it about 3 days after ordering it and it works great too. As far as which pistol to get, either way you're getting a good gun, so get the one that points the best and fits your hand the best.

I have carried the XD-40 Service in a DeSantis Speed Scabbard (about 60 bucks) and it has been VERY comfortable. I have worn it for long days and never felt uncomfortable.

Great holster...great pistol, if you ask me.

(I am a HUGE fan of the DeSantis Speed Scabbard and have these for my 1911, Sig P225, Beretta 96 and XD-40 and have used them for years.)
