Since their website email isn't working I called them. I gave my story to the lady and she basically said "that's your preogative...you can shop where you like and we can ask that our customers and employees not be armed!"

So I explained that it isn't just me, that I would tell all my carrying friends about it and they can vote with their dollars as well.

The big corporations are just to big to even care...

That is fine. Like I said earlier, I live within spitting distance of Goodyear HQ tire and rubber right here in Akron, Ohio. I have been dealing with their striking plant workers, etc. Akron is considered a Goodyear town. Guns or not, I won't buy Goodyear tires. Personally, I think their products are garbage. I have been buying Yokohamas for the past 5 years, and I love them. They wear nicely, and have long tread life. They are reasonable priced, etc. I hate not supporting my fellow American worker, but I also have to look out for my bottom line(and my gun rights).

It's near impossible to get through the flunkies to anyone that actually cares about custimers (if there are any).

Maybe you could write a letter and put the president's name on it?

Write or call our Corporate Headquarters:

Robert J. Keegan, CEO
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company
1144 East Market Street
Akron, Ohio 44316-0001
(330) 796-2121
Fax: (330) 796-2222

http://www.goodyear.com/email/index.html

May not work, but you never know. It would be interesting to see if he respondeded himself.

Good idea, Salty...I think I'll do just that!

I did ask if she has to make a log of the calls she takes and she said that she did...My point was that I didn't just want my concerns to fall on some lady that could give a flying rats a$$ whether I lived or died...rode Goodyears or Pirelli's...

They're based in Ohio, northern at that...that's the biggest reason they're posted. Goodyear posts, Michelin is owned in part by a French company, lots of crapola going on with the tire industry.

I'm running Toyo right now, they seem to do pretty good. No idea about the company. I'd rather goto a local place who knows their customers by name that gives me free rotation, balance, and flat service than deal with some random guy off the street every time I have an issue or problem.

I told the manager that today would be my last trip to the Goodyear store due to their policy. He handed me his card and encouraged me to contact corporate to share my thoughts with them on the subject.
Unfortuantly for us in Texas, if they post a 30.06 sign then I'd be SOL for entering the premiss without breaking the law. However I don't buy Good Year tires, I just go to Discount Tire and get the cheap **** for my Impala.
