There's a whole series of books that are the official interpretation and meanings of the Quran. It explains the meaning of every single verse. As you can see, the average person unaware of this can read the Quran and easily take things out of context. The series of books are called "tafseer of Quran". I didn't go into every verse as i assumed people got the point of what i was trying to convey.

As an "American Muslim" born and raised in ths country I find the lack of correct information about the second largest religion a shame. When interpreting the Quran, one must take the entire Quranic message into account and the circumstances under which the verses were revealed, the Sunnah or "Tradition." Infidels in the Quranic sense isn't anyone who disagrees with the message. It is one who will kill you for believing it like the arabs at the time of Muhammad. Funny how a book of hundreds of pages, full of verses about peace, justice, and fairness, and people chose two verses regarding self defense and take them out of context to judge an entire faith. I suggest people check their history and see why this religion has moved the hearts of 1.5 billion people. Anyone who takes the message of the quran out of its context has left the bounds of the faith. Don't call them Muslims and judge us all by the act of some arrogant arab. The Quran itself, says "the taking of innocent life is the like of killing all of humanity."

But show me any main stream religion that still teaches/preaches killing of those that dont follow thier religion

Just take a quick jaunt to the ME and boom, you will see it everywhere

with all do respect, its not "some arrogant arab", its thousands and thousands of them that have hi jacked your religion. I know there are lots of peaceful muslim people throughout the world...its unfortunate that the Koran leaves so much room for extremeists to adapt it to their ideals. Surely you can understand a viewpoint like my own, especially when faced with the literature I quoted earlier. We can all interpret things in different ways and luckily you have a peaceful interpretation of your religion.

me too.. almost bought a HK when i was there today. shot pretty well today actually. im gonna sell my glock to a buddy of mine and get the HK USP. i didnt feel like letting lose with the AR today.

Obviously you missed the point... as well as my previous posts. My point in fact was that the KKK calls themselves Christians. I assume you're a Christian also. Do you have the same sentiments as the KKK? Does this select group reflect the true values of Christianity? Is this how all Christian Americans feel?
