OK everyone, I'd like your experienced input here....
I'm looking for a site that'll host movies (*.mov format) that I've recorded w/ my digital camera. My personal website on comcast doesn't have enough room or I'd just do it that way. I've checked a few places out, but the free ones have scary Terms of Use. Like they can use and distribute your uploads however they want, or they delete your file if it's not downloaded in 30 days, or they limit the bandwidth you use per month, etc... Or, they just stink in reliability. Plus, I'd *like* to be able to organize all my files in the same folder, and create new folders, instead of my movies being randomly "broken up" or randomly named by the generic file hosting sites like some seem to do. Does anyone have any recommendations? Do you use one that suits your needs? Do you know of one that you avoid like the plague? Any and all input, please!! I want to upload my movies tonight if possible. Thanks in advance!

Google Video might work for you. I like it a lot for my HatCam stuff. It doesn't seem to matter what you upload. If it is a .mov(quicktime) it might get rejected or have to wait a day till it gets converted. Try it. The videos are kept at a high res too.

Is youtube.com not an option? I would use that or Google Video both are good options.
See? Like this funny animation: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IzO1mCAVyMw EDIT: I forgot to add that you might want to check http://www.archive.org/details/movies - though I have never used it - I had someone recommend it to me. I think you can host full size movies and auido, etc. for free there or something - I don't know but it's worth a look.

Hotlinking or not?
There are some sites that have large file size limits that are perfect for capturing all that detail, but they don't allow hotlinking.
Megaupload.com (which I think may restrict file usage to one recipient? if you're not a paying member), Yourfilehost.com (is pretty good, but the host has a lot of porn links, banners, and files so it might not be family safe), and putfile.com come to mind (i have no experience with the last but the first two allow you to upload and share even without registering). Yourfilehost allows you to delete uploaded files, but I'm not entirely sure how the other two allow you to have control over your file.

I would host it myself on my Comcast acct, but I don't have enough space left on it for all the movies I want to share.
I'm not sure what the OS matters, because that will vary by everyone who will be watching/downloading my videos. I use Win2k Pro at work, and Win XP Home at home. I know sites like yahoo have photo albums, and that would be the perfect thing. But I want one for movies. And yes, I'd like to hotlink to the movies if I could. If not, it's not a big deal I guess. People would just have to download the movies first, then watch them. I've seen info on iFilm, TinyPic, YouTube, Google, MediaMax (Streamload), photobucket, etc.... Some seem to be ok, but some put strange limitations on their files. I'm looking into HideBehind's site now. They seem to be ok, and no limitations.... I'll figure it out eventually. Thanks for everyone's input... keep the comments/ideas coming.
