I was trying like crazy today to get back in town early enough to go to the idpa type match they have on tuesday nights, and I would have been there tonight had I gotten in early. I am actually glad I missed this! Not something I need to see in person.

I wonder how much this (suicides) actually happens, particularly at ranges that rent out guns.

this hasn't been a good week or two for bad gun incidents. I'll post more on this story as I hear more about it. I'm curious what exactly happened. It doesn't say if he was there for the shooting match, or if he was on the other half of the range shooting just normal. I wonder if he rented the gun or brought his own. I hate to see something like this happen anywhere, but it sucks even more that it's gotta happen where I shoot.. hits home a bit more.

I know at the range, the rules say you're suppose to have your handgun purchase permit to be able to rent, that or someone in your group must have one. Since they make you get a background check for the permit, and I think it shows whether or not you have mental history. I have never, not once been asked to show my permit. so if this guy did comit suicide with a rented gun, and didn't show a permit then it might be a sticky situation for the range. I sure hope not though, because I like the guys at that range. Though they do need to enforce their rules, because they are there for safety reasons.

This is getting out of hand. Ranges are going to shut down becaue they will not be able to afford the insurance to operate.

If you want to kill yourself; 1) jump off a bridge, 2) drive your car off said bridge, 3) use a rope, tie one end to the bridge and jump.

Don't go to our ranges and ruin shooting for the rest of us.
