We had one here in Washington a year or so ago, ruled suicide. I don't remember if he rented or brought his own.

He just finds it dumb that we Nebraskans have to first apply for a permit to purchase a handgun from the sheriff/police dept. then that permit is good for 3 years so we can purchase small arms legally.

but at least we don't have a 10 day waiting period, and FINALLY got CCW passed.

You have to get a permit to aquire in Iowa yearly that is from the sherrifs office. I think by law the wait (minimum) is 3 days in Iowa, but at my counties sherrif's office it takes 7 full days before you can pick your permit up after it's been approved (proven you're not defective in 1 or more ways). We still also have to get CCW approved by the county sheriff himself. It is totally at his whim if you get it or not and every county is different in how easy or difficult it is to aquire a CCW based soley on the Sheriff (his beliefs, if he's having a good or bad day, if he doesn't like how you look, if he's generally against the idea of armed citizens, etc.). If he decides to sign the paper for you, then you take the course.
