I think we should have in Vega. All the great conventions happen in vegas. Just no so sure on what the gun laws are there. Hopefully not like that of Kommifornia. But I would definatly be down for doing one.

I think the forum sponsors should have the oppurnity to set up a booth or a table so everyone can meet the guys first hand that have been working on our XD's and whom we have bought products from and to see first had what's new.

Or how 'bout cheking into someplace like gun site here in AZ or Thunder Ranch and seeing what they could do for us. Maybe we could have a couple hours of group training. Nothing to basic but nothing advanced. Something so everyone new and seasoned would have a good time. Then have a day of shooting some IPSC style stages. We could keep score for a prize, Or just for fun. I am sure that it would be great business for the place we go to, Plus we would probably get a decent discount. And you know after you have been to a place like that you usually go back at least once more.

Wherever the shin-dig ends up being located, it'll be too far for Knight to make it...so we'll just send him some peanut butter and a wish-you-were-here note.

I second Arizona as a location because (a) I'm already here and (b) there are many nice shooting spots and the winter weather is beautiful. But Vegas would be a decent second choice.

the problem with Thunder Ranch or Gunsite (etc..) is hotel access not only for us but, the press (if significantly big enough) and family attractions.

Florida is extremely gun friendly and Orlando has the Wife and Kids covered why we shoot....Just an Idea.

Next year will be our third "XD" Group Shoot. Each year, Springfield has been very gracious with product support but they have not been willing to send a representative to the match. I don't know why, I would like someone to say hello. It would be foolish to ask for Mr. Leatham since the man is money and he needs to be where the action is.

The 2007 Group Shoot will be at a new club, more space and amenities. It would be great to have everyone show up. The new club is about 5 minutes from the hotel, shopping, restaurants, etc.

Why not do it the Sunday after SHOT SHOW week in Orlando? Mid-January is a nice time to visit Florida.

Hopefully everyone will be that much happier after SHOT because we'll be toasting the upcoming release of the subbie ACP. Sigh.....

Shhh... you guys just don't get it. Let the popularity wane a little bit and supply and demand dictates that we will start getting our beloved XDs for $350-400 just like the good old days.
