I had neck surgery, and a nerve somewhere must have been bumped or something. I have some pain and numbness along my left jawline and down into that side of my neck.
My mom has had several knee surgeries, a total knee replacement, total shoulder replacement, 2 total hip replacements. I know her nerves seemed to hurt pretty bad for a long time. And her shoulder, her therapist pulled it too much and pulled a nerve and she has excruciating pain from that non stop. Over a year later, and the nerve hasn't healed itself. Nerves are a tricky thing. Sometimes they can rectify their problems, sometimes they never do. Lets hope yours gets better. Sometimes problems with nerves after surgeries are just from muscles being tight and spasming, creating pressure against a nerve. Hopefully that's what is going on with your leg. |

Generally, just generally (and just generally) meniscal tears are due to lateral or twisting forces such as the aforementioned cheapshot. Being moved to the side or losing your step while carrying something is another good cause. Sometimes it is secondary to the development of arthritic spurring in the knees which starts to chew up the meniscus. I'm sorry to hear that. I'll keep you and your doctors in my prayers.

I'll put up a prayer for ya. I had knee surgery on my right knee a year and a half ago. I had a motorcycle wreck and messed it up pretty good. It was a pretty invasive surgery and I have a 6" scar on the front of my knee from it. He cut a nerve in my leg and the skin on the outside of my knee is numb. It'll be like this from now on according to the doc. I still have pain in it when running from the cartlidge damage.

check out CRPS Type 1, or RSD. google it, id paste a site but my comp. acting up. it what i have. major suckage! hope its not what u have. but be careful with the nerve pain, it can also lead to the CRPS. keep moving as much as you can as scar tissue will form and your leg could freeze up. even though it hurts just move it. gonna do some work on the comp. so when i get back up i will check it out. my prayers for sure!

Most likely the effects of a spinal anesthesia.
Early mobility is the key. check with your doctor on what you had done (regarding anesthesia) and get some rehab. It should come back just fine...
