Team Springfield stole my thunder...

So as many of you know, I recently bought an XD9 service that I have not had a chance to fire yet. I thought today (it was technically yesterday, Saturday, but it's quarter passed 12 in the morning and I'm still up) was a good day to try my new gun, so I grabbed a buddy of mine and headed over to the range all gung-ho about firing this gun. I even brought my shotgun because my buddy gets a kick out of it (literally). We get there, and discover that it was "Springfield" day at the range. Team Springfield was there promoting the XD, and Rob Leatham was upstairs in the range giving a demonstration to a mob of people. We were told there was no open range time available because all lanes were reserved for people to test-fire XD's for sale. So we waited a bit... and waited... and decided it wasn't worth it. I didn't even get to meet Rob Leatham because he was busy.

I tried to buy a 9mm magazine for my XD, since they were advertising that all Springfield merchandise was on special. They bring a mag to the girl at the cash register for me. $40. I tell them to screw themselves, but in a nice way.

I have to say one good thing about Team Springfield, though. The Springfield girls.............. omg. The one at the cash register in particular. Kewt!!!

Haha, I'm sorry guys. I failed in getting pics. For what it's worth, the really gorgeous one wasn't in the best of moods. I wasn't exactly happy, either.

Well, then why didn't you step up to "test fire" one of THEIR XD's. You would have gotten a chance to shoot (tell them you wanted to try out an XD9 Service), and you wouldn't have had to clean the darn thing as a bonus.

But $40 for a mag?... that must have been for one their gold plated ones and the price probably included a glance down the blouse of the cashier while checking out.

The range was occupied when I got there. Rob Leatham was giving a demonstration, which wasn't even over when I left. After the demo, there was a waiting list for going on to the range to test-fire an XD, and they were only giving people half-boxes of ammo to do this. You couldn't use your own. So I didn't think waiting around all day to maybe get a chance to fire 25 rounds out of something I already own was worth it.

For $40 I want more than a glance They go for $20 elsewhere, so they would have made an extra $20 off of me. $20 buys you a lap dance around here....
