Which eye is dominant?
I thought this was a pretty cool find:
http://www.archeryweb.com/archery/eyedom.htm I used to think I was left eye dominant but this kinda threw that out. One caveat I would add to their instructions - sight in on something far away - at least two or three arm lengths away. When i sighted on something closer, the object moved for shutting either eye. When I sighted on something further away, the image stayed rock solid when I closed my left eye and disapeared completely when I closed my right (yes, after opening the left eye first Oh well Deacon, all that pontificating at me was for naught. |

DanZ,
My pontificating wasn't wasted at all. You now know your eye dominance, don't ya! Deacon Dave

The optomotrist tested my dad for eye dominance and they found out he actually didn't have any at all, infact his eyes are nearly identical in everyway. I wish I could be that, I'm major left eye dominance and everything I do is left handed also. It makes it really hard to shoot righthanded.

Since I can't close my left eye while leaving my right eye open, I assume I'm left eye dominant. I shoot right handed (stong hand) and sight with the left eye. Now, that's not all that hard for handguns.
However, 99% of the old military rifles I collect and shoot are made for right hand shooters. Shells eject to the right, bolt handles are mounted on the right and are meant to be activated with the right hand, semi's spit their shells out to the right. I have to nest the butt of the rifle into my left shoulder in order to get a sight picture and shoot with my left hand (which is unnatural for me as I'm right handed). It gives you a new prespective on the daily challange left handed people face every day doing routine things.....

I just did the exercise, and the object moved the same way in both eyes... I guess I'm not dominate in either?
