A few years ago there was a defense of fraternities in this university town in the university newspaper. The defense was that fraternities were a great thing since around 80% of elected politicians came from fraternal backgrounds. I snorted bourbon thru my nose when I read that. All I could think of was that no wonder politicians are usually ranked lower than used car salesmen in trust, they have learned from the best how to screw their fellow man. What this poor fraternal defender viewed as a plus I viewed as a near crime.

I do not expect ANY politician to represent me, I just expect them to proxy vote the right way when they need to, nearest to my choice/vote. Short of that, I figure nearly all politicians to prefer to sheep to women (ok...of whichever sex). I never intended to "defend" Bush, as that would belong in the political section.

This crap of "corrupt administrations" is naivete at its worst, as by this level of politics they have ALL sold their souls years before we ever heard of their name for election.

So...keep on the original topic: Go Tom, Go! (kudows to Dr. Suess), or initiate a topic in the political section.

This thread stinks. I take perverse pleasure in kicking Tom in the nuts when asks for it. If anyone wants to do the same they can go to the Political section and have at it. As far as having him for a thread topic, well...that's just kind of...strange...

If you need to bash on Tom, he's easy to find. Bashing him here is almost like gossiping behind his back. I'm not sure he's aware that we also discuss firearms here...

This is all rather frustrating. It's like everyone picked the "fat kid" to pick on and it is now cool to do so everyone joins in. IMO he kinda makes you all look like idiots by not responding to your attacks.

If you would read the posts on the first page by the thread starter you might have a better understand of what this thread is supposed to be about.

This thread was started to recognize in a positive light Tom in his ability to keep going with his thoughts and beliefs, no matter how many how nasty they got. This thread was started to say to Tom, 'way to stick to your guns Tom'.

Granted, a few here have either taken offense to the thread / notion, or have even attacked him here. To those, eh, it's a free country. I'm not their mommy to smack em if they do that here on my thread. After all, not all agree that Tom should be recognized for this, some don't even think he's human. Everyone has an opinion.

Granted, there are many here who are determined in their resolve with their views and agenda. To those I say, Stick to your guns also. But I felt Tom deserved a little more recognition because everyone is always kicking him in the butt, and he keeps coming back for more, thus showing his dedication to his beliefs in politics. He could shut up, like some do, he could move on, like some do, he could throttle back a little on what he says, like some do, BUT HE DOES NOT. Hence this thread.

So, Tom, I present this award to you for:

"XD Talk Forum Member with the most illogical yet strongly entrenched beliefs who keeps on going no matter how badly he gets his axx kicked".

way to go Tom

Now, now, don't say illogical. Impentetrable, rock solid and ridgid would be more like it. But not illogical. That's just one (...or 1000 ) person's opinion! I happen to agree with Tom a lot!

Well, maybe I'm not as well versed on Tom as I thought. I have extremely conservative values, and I am a strong supporter of the Prez. If he is different, then he's wrong !

I mean, If he's different, I didn't know him as well as I thought.
