I have the 2 gun vault, and with the removable separator shelf, I can get at the batteries pretty well.

I leave the foam on the floor of the shelf and lay the .40 on it. It sits on the shelf of a nightstand so I don't think the foam is really necessary.

i agree with nightraider the safest place is on your body.1. you know your kids don't have it and 2. if there ever (hope not) is a need for that firearm while you are at home then it is very available. Personnaly this is what i do while at home and my 7 year old does not even know it is there, and i know that he can't get ahold of it (he knows better but would rather be safer than real sorry) But back to the issue at hand i don't own a gun vault but have also looked at them and find that the deluxe muli would fit my needs nicly. i also only have one gun but ti can hold other valuables easily and should come with a ac adapter cord so you don't run off battery power all the time. At sportsmans warehouse i think i saw them for 129 but don't quote me. Sorry for the long post, just my thoughts

I see no other explanation for the pointless and irrational activism of the gun grabbers on the political scene. They know that their machinations can have no effect upon crime. Guns have no effect upon crime, but they do make all men equal, as the saying goes. - John Cooper
