Need some advice from watch enthusiasts -Update- I've chosen a watch

I've always worn generic Timex, Casio, and Fossil watches. I've always wanted a quality dive watch. Classic, timeless, rugged yet dressy. My budget is under $500, so no Omegas or Submariners. What's out there besides the mall jewelry store selection of Seikos, Invictus, and Citizens? Not saying they are bad watches, but I know there are lots of other quality watch makers that fly under the mall radar that only the watch enthusiasts know of.

That is a tough choice...
IF it was me I'd say save up and buy a Rolex Submariner or Omega Speedmaster..used even.

BUT if you must spend less than $500....Did some Googleing...

Citizen Men's BJ7000-52e Eco Drive Night Hawk
Tissot TSport PRC 200
Victorinox Swiss Army 241151
Bulova Mens 98B104 Marine Star

Gratuious photo of my favorites....

Submariners are not what they are hyped to be, one of the least accurate timepieces I've had. I wear a Kinetic Seiko that so far has been one of my favorites ever and very affordable. Some Tag Heuers get down close to your budget, might be worth looking into.

1979 I bought a brand new Rolex GMT Master. I wore it for 30 years without having to do anything to it. Unfortunately the tritium wore out long ago.

I love that watch, but didn't want to stress about. It now sits in the bank vault. I visit it once a year.

Now I wear an $80 Casio I bought on Amazon. No more stress.
