I tried it a few times, but I could not figure out why you would want to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft just to fall like a set of car keys. I found I liked flying them more. But it didn't s..k

Because there is no such thing as a "perfectly good aircraft" I have the option to get out while you get the pleasure of riding it in. LOL

I got hooked in college too. My DZ didn't offer AFF courses at the time so I learned the old way - static line. I got 50 jumps under my belt but because of moving and life, I got out of it. I still have dreams about it and my daughter wants to jump. She's only 6 so I have some time to wait.

*Update*
I completed my AFF course, and I'm now on solo status and almost done with my A progression card to get my A license. Here are some other videos through my AFF, and a couple fun jumps after getting solo status.

AFF Level 3 (can't view on mobile)

Windtunnel practicing my turns for AFF levels 6 and 7 - skip to 9:25 if you don't want to watch my tunnel progression. (can't view on mobile)

AFF Level 6 (can't view on mobile)

Coach jump for docking and tracking.

Might as well chime in here..... I was a member of the CSU skydiving club back in the late 60s. Dammmmm - that was a long time ago. At that time the latest & greatest in chutes was the ParaCommander. Had a balck & green checkerboard one. Great canopy - I think it had a whooping 17MPH of forward speed. Quit laughing... Some company was trying to develope a triangle shaped wing I think they called the Tarydactile. One of our members bought one and had a miserable time with it - came down on his reserve about a third of the time. The squares weren't even on the design table yet to my memory. I had a great time - have a bit over a hundred freefall jumps with the longest delay of a little over a minute down in Phoenix in 1971.
Then I won that little lottery the Army had going on those days - never got back into it after I came home from the Nam.
There is a commercial skydive place over in Moab, UT - we hear the jump plane on the radio even over here - 70 or so miles away. Every once in a while I think about it......
If I ever succomb to the temptation I'll write u and ask for a canity check.

LMAO Oh the stories some of us could tell. We did a hollywood Blackhawk chopper blast. Jumpmaster lost his balance and bumped the helmet of the guy next to me and he jumped... They found him about an hour later about 5 miles from the DZ
HOOAH! I won't even chime in on some of the jumps with some of the gear I've had! Sheesh! RLTW!!
