Va. and Tenn. are pretty gun friendly. Over the past few yrs. Va. has gotten better , but their are a few bills being discussed right, but no talk of bans. Va. has two faces right now, the Area around D.C. and other urban areas, off set by the rest of the state.
VA. only requires proof of a basic firearms class and clean record for a permit.
The Shenadoah Valley and the piedmont area near the mountains are great places to live, central area of the state near the bay is nice too.
Here's a story from today: http://washingtonexaminer.com/virgin...rticle/2518986
Lawmaker takes a AK 47 to the general Assembly.

It certainly hasn't gotten any better. Lots of Californians here now. And, "The People's Republic of Boulder" is a true statement. *sigh* I do like my job, however, and I do get into the mountains a bit. So, I'm here for a while-unless something comes up back home in Montana.
(Sorry for the hijack)

Georgia should be on the friendly list too IMO.

I would definitely include Alabama in this list. The sheriff from my hometown tweeted that he would not enforce any unconstitutional gun laws.

You want to be in a red state. Proud I'm in a state with 0 points from those wackos.

West Virginia; at least the southern part, is extremely gun friendly. I literally do not know of a home without at least one gun.
