Have you seen the MetalStorm gun?
One million rounds per min. Thats crazy fast.
I was watching the military channel tonight and saw more indepth coverage of a gun I heard about a while ago. Its crazy when you think about the real possibility of this technology. Can't jam or misfire - they say. The handgun (3 shots before the gun can recoil at all): ![]() Notice the different calibers in the same four barrel gun. I saw a guy holding one its like size of a 92fs except for the four barrels width. ![]() ![]() The grenade launcher (40mm can engage 3 targets in 1.2 second): ![]() http://www.metalstorm.com/index.php?...red%20Articles Heres some videos: http://www.metalstorm.com/index.php?...Live%20Firings Article: http://www.popularmechanics.com/scie...e/1281426.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Storm

I would hate to be there IF it did misfire. How about the reloads? It is pretty cool stuff though.

It reloads by a long cylindrical cartridge. Like a thick pencil that you put in the back of the barrel and then release the slide to lock the cartridge in.

I believe that development of the Odwyer VLE was stopped.
Metalstorm is concentrating on vehicle mounted systems these days.

Seems like reloading would still be slower than a regular old magazine.
IMO it's strongest advantages would be realized in territory denial. Seems like they've put quite a bit of funding into FOF recognition systems anyway.
