Me thinks there's something dark going on behind the scenes. At the very least I think this admin knows an AR w/ hi cap mags wasn't used and they're forcing the cops to keep quiet about it so they can push their agenda.
If you've ever read Mein Kampf you'll remember Hitler said a couple things about propaganda. The first was that if you beat a woman long enough she'll eventually believe she's worthless. The other is that successful propaganda "must confine itself to a few points and repeat them over and over". Both have to do with brainwashing the public. I think this is what's happening. Just too many measures being proposed all of a sudden.

So the fact is we don't know the facts because too much misinformation was flying out of the mouths of the press. That M.E. probably wouldn't know the difference between a rifle shot wound and a BB shot wound so who the hell knows.

It would have been more convenient by far if he went crazy with a single shot bolt action 22LR.

It's a shotgun of some kind. The shell ejected is much to large to be any rifle.
As for the cops statement.....the majority of cops out there don't know squat about firearms.

If I'm not mistaken, the most recent reports as well as Wikipedia state that it was a shotgun removed from the car.

Look under "Investigation"
"A large quantity of unused ammunition was recovered at the school, along with three semi-automatic firearms found with Adam Lanza: a .223-caliber Bushmaster XM-15 rifle, a 10mm Glock 20 SF handgun and a 9mm SIG Sauer handgun. [4][5][6][66] A shotgun was found in the car Lanza had driven to the school. [6] At home, Lanza had access to three more firearms: a .45 Henry repeating rifle, a .30 Enfield rifle, and a .22 Marlin rifle"
Granted, we obviously shouldn't just assume this as truth (due to the amount of conflicting initial reports), but, this seems to be the most recent consensus.

Yeah, I think the clarification here is:
- The AR-15 was indeed used in the shooting event
- Unknown how many rounds fired, and casualties incurred, from this firearm
- The shotgun was recovered, unused, from the trunk of the car
- Make / model not yet known or confirmed
- The two pistols used in the shooting were on his person
- Unknown how many rounds fired, and casualties incurred, from this firearm
