Looks like a nice trip to a nice range! I think a nice outdoor range like the one you went to helps the old "date factor" a bit. Cute Wifey too.

Now I just need to steategically leave a couple of those pics up so my wife can see what a great experience shooting together is, and viola' - we will make the time to get out there.

Great start there! I did the same thing around 4-5 months ago and this has been the progression since then:

I talk her into going to the range "just to check it out". Being the 115 pound uber-woman that she is, she starts off with my XD .45. She loves it.

I start taking her every weekend.

She starts asking on Thursday which day we are going to go.

She starts hogging my XD.

She starts looking over my shoulder at the computer when I am window shopping for new guns.

She shoots a Sig X5 9mm and smacks me for starting her off on the big XD.

We buy her her first gun, a SA 1911 9mm loaded 5 incher.

I'll give her a month before she is shooting with me in our practical matchs!!

Life is good.

I can get my better half to the range every now and then, usually after I've purchased a new toy and go to try it out. She does pretty well with the AR and my XD-9, so I think it's time for her to get her own. Maybe I'll bring home a nice XD-.45ACP for her, bet she'd like it....

Ya, but will you be so happy when she starts shooting better than you? ; )

Thats great though, we're quickly turning this to a full family affair. We all went to NRA Firearm Safety/Basic Pistol training together last month.

Dude your wife is double stacked. HEYOOO GUN HUMOR! I crack me up. Nice looking guns, too. Looks like everyone had a great day, thanks for letting us in on the festivities man, I really like when people show pictures of them shooting and enjoying themselves with some nice firearms.

You might also consider an Easy-Up or similar canopy. My nephew and I went to the outdoor range one day and it was at least 100. Almost everyone had their canopies set up over the shooting tables; we were stuck in the sun. We didn't stay long.

I now carry the canopy in the truck if needed. We always bring a cooler with water. We stop at In-n-Out on the way home to eat.

Nice pics, cute wife and glad you had fun.

Tell you what, she put a string of three inside 3" in under 2 seconds at 5 yards last Saturday with the XD. I'm hoping it was a random occurance. Either that or she is on one quick learning curve!!

Then again, it wouldn't break my heart to be at the match with not only the hottest shooter but the best looking one as well.

Maybe I should take her up to Midwest Training Group's Advanced Handgun Skills class. 1600 rounds over a weekend would really ramp up her skill sets.
