In California and especially my County, one needs a reason to get there CCW. You must have a very legitament reason for you needing the permit.
What types of things do you think would satisfy my Sherriff? Please respond ASAP

It would help if you tell us how old you are and what you do fot a living and why you actually want the CCW (besides your right just to have it which doesnt seem to be enough in CA).

I am 30 and I am a loan officer. I want the CCW cause I believe it is my right and I think it is stupid that, that is not good enough for our sherriff. I also want to feel safe when I am out with my family and friends.

Might want to check what things the sheriff has approved as valid reasons and go from there. Maybe ask around at a local gun store. Or some friendly deputies.

I might be coming into this post too late, but our CCDW app in DE has a similar space for reasons you want a permit to carry....
for me, I'm putting on my application: - the fact that there was a shooting right outside my house one night that I witnessed. (I was even subpoena'd to go to court as a witness of the State). Other ideas are: - increased levels of crime in my area, and also the region (crime may happen farther away, but sometimes the "fight" comes to your town). - the fact that it takes police [insert statistic here] minutes to arrive on the scene, and by then it could be too late. - you feel safer knowing you'll be able to defend yourself and your family .... I'm not sure if these will help you at all, but they're just ideas. I haven't actually submitted my app yet, so I can't tell you what works. One idea would be to talk to others that have gone through the process, or talk to instructors who provide live-fire training for permits (DE requires a course). also as and gun store owners or "regulars" who might know. good luck!!
