Hey I was just checking to see how many people on here are from Nebraska and what parts you are from. Also what ranges do you usually go to?

I'm from Nebraska. Omaha to be exact. formerly of North Platte, where I grew up until I moved here last november. I generally go to the bullet hole down in la vista. Although I think I will start going to some of the matches they have in louisville, and lincoln. Other than that, I have a place to shoot when I go back to North Platte to visit.

My current guns are XD40, KelTec P32, RRA AR-15, Rem 11-87. I can't say the AR and 11-87 get shot much. The AR is more of a "because I can" gun.

okay yeah I like the bullet hole except that they dont allow FMJs. Do you know what it costs for a membership to the louisville range? Otherwise when I don't mind wasting gas I usually drive down to my dads farm near Lincoln.
My current guns are: XD45acp tac, AR-15, Remington 700 30-06, Mossberg 12 Ga., and a .54 cal muzzleloader.

I'm assuming you are referring to no FMJ's with AR's? I don't shoot my AR there. i may some day if I am bored enough. Otherwise I'd rather make a trip back to north platte to shoot it all day for free at a range a guy has setup. And i don't know about the louisville range. I just found out about it the other day. I'm going to look into it. They have practical shooting matches, 3 gun and I can't remember what else. Anyway the guys in lincoln at the rock your glock event told me if I love shooting, and actually want to have some realistic shooting experience, to come check it out. They hold the match every 1st sunday of the month I believe. I think it's suppose to be a lot like IDPA, if not actually that. And one more thing about the bullethole, I don't really enjoy shooting there much but I don't have anywhere else really. Especially not to go shoot quick. And I've learned to stay away from there on hot days. It may be 95 outside, but in the range you can guarantee it's going to be probably 110!!

So do they or dont they allow FMJs on handguns I knew they were a no go with my ar. Ive taken my ar up there twice on lunch break with a couple of buddies from the Army but that was just for some bragging rights. I just got my first pistol about a week ago so I need alot more practice before I am ready for competition but once I feel confident with the xd Ill probably enter a couple. Let me know what you find out from Louisville I read on Nebraska Game and Parks that they have a rifle range, pistol range, archery, and trap to me that sounds like its the best range for me since i do all of those.

FMJ's are fine with pistols. I shoot there quite often and I've never used anything else really. Well, except for a few hollowpoints. I'm pretty sure the AR isn't allowed to use FMJ's because of the velocity. With a pistol it's nowhere near that fast so it's not a problem.

okay good because I was about to not go there with my xd because Ive seen the prices on Hollows and I like the price on FMJs a heck of a lot better. Now also Im not 21 yet so would I have to have a person 21 or older with me? or do I have to bring my "mommy" with me?

They've never checked me, but you are suppose to have your pistol purchase permit, or be with someone who has one. I don't know if you'd get checked or not. The only thing you can do, is call them and ask if you can bring it there or not. Otherwise, you will have to be with someone who has that permit. Does your mommy have a permit?

yeah she was the one who bought the pistol for me. but since then it has been transferred into my name.

So it is legally in your name? I'd give them a call and ask them about it. If you are legally allowed to own it, you should be allowed to shoot it there I'd think.
