The NRA speaks on our behalf. Every gun owner should join.

Good for you guys. But, no, not every gun owner should join. The NRA does a great deal for us, but they have some fundamental flaws which I refuse to support. In the past they have bent and caved and compromised on issues. Recently, prominent members have come out in favor of compromising on the 2A because of the CT shooting.
Until the NRA stands firm and does not bend, I will not join.

ive been on the fence about it. i dont know enough about them to spend my money. i see pro NRA forum members then i see "anti" NRA forum members. if someone on this forum is "against" a company, firm, etc that supposed to be PRO 2A then something might not be kosher and i would need to find out more about them before i spent my money. im neither pro or anti, im pranti.

I'm a member. Like most large organizations there's things I like about them and things I don't like.

The NRA is just another group of politicians. While I agree with some of what they preach, they are just as dishonest as any other politician or media group.

The NRA used to seem like a good idea to me but I've gotten too weird a vibe from them. I think we need a new front line group headed by a female so that it's more acceptable to the modern generation. I'm thinking one of those cute IDPA or 3 gun girls. But it may be too late in the game now..

I'm a member but only because our shooting club requires it. I agree with a lot of what they do but the advertising and other "announcements" annoy the crap out of me.

I'd rather support the Second Amendment Foundation. They were the ones who carried out the lawsuits that brought down the DC and Chicago gun bans. They do more to support expand gun rights than the NRA and with less political ostracizing.
