There were two people killed and one 15 year old girl shot but in serious condition still. The reason he didn't shoot more was of his lack of understanding of the gun. It jammed on him, giving people more opportunity to escape and hide. One mag also fell out and dropped to the floor creating more down time for him. This was good as less people were shot. The AR 15 was also stolen so yes he was unfamiliar with it, thank god.

Perhaps if the shooters were placed on a stake and slowly impaled in public this sort of thing would end. Public beatings for high speed evasion of the police would also be useful.

multiples for repeat occurrences (the same thing over and over)
1x = punishment x1
2x = punishment x10
3x = punishment x100
automatic...non-negotiable or plea bargain

This way its a self inflicted repeat offense three strikes your out...because if they do the same thing over and over...we don't want em on the streets in the 1st place

Yeah they are trying to do the same in Colorado after the theatre shootings. As is the sentiment of most everyone on here, I'm dumbfounded by the idea that criminals with the intent to commit terrible crimes would somehow be deterred by a law...

If James Holmes used a lower capacity mag in Colorado instead of a 100-round Beta Mag, his AR wouldn't have jammed, and a lot more people would have been killed.

Of course if the mall and theater were not "gun free" zones, they might have had to dodge some return-fire.

We heard on the news today that they think the motive was because his girl friend broke up with him. I am just dumbfounded that someone would take their unhappiness out on innocent people by shooting and killing them for something like this or any matter. How utterly stupid and crazy are people getting.
