So its a bigger heavier KelTec S2000 that doesn't fold up and looks more like an AR. Is that worth an extra $150?

I'd buy one for the simple reason that it's a decently priced carbine. For sub $600, you're looking at a pretty sweet deal.

are you thinking of the hi-point with the 45? or are you talking about this one?
As far as I ever heard the KelTec was 9 or 40 with maybe a very limited run of 357sigs

Neat concept but I think I'll stick to a pistol caliber pistol, and a .22lr or larger rifle separately.

No, it's the same platform by TNW. I've never seen any other carbines like this one. The TNW video is online and the guy explains exactly what they're planning. The rifle just came out. You can't expect them to have everything up and running.
