How much is a brick of .22lr in Arizona?

Possibly moving to the Tucson area, and I'm curious about ammo prices. Such as a brick of .22, average idea on primers, and a pound of powder. Thanks for any help you can provide!

Buy online (especially bulk). Consistent pricing that is the same for you and me.

Most places sell the 500+ round .22LR value boxes anywhere from $20-$25. Walmart @$20 for 555rd value box. Cabelas at higher end.

I don't purchase reloading supplies so I can't answer that one.

I'm glad that you asked that question. I know nothing about ammo prices in AZ.

But the better question, in my mind at least, is how many rounds are there in a "brick" ?

I've always thought that a brick was 100 rounds. That goes back many years ago when CCI first stared making those 100 round plastic containers. My friends and I called them bricks back then, I guess because they sorta' resembled bricks. Before then, .22 ammo always came 50 rounds to a box.

But I've seen folks refer to 50 rounds, 100 rounds, 250 rounds, 500 rounds, and even sometimes 1000 rounds as a brick. (usually its been either 50 or 100)

Thanks,

Duane

I'm in Tucson and when I need ammo fast I'll buy from LGS but most of them are severely over-priced so i stick to buying online. I'd totally support a LGS but their mark ups are just insane sometimes.

I can get a 525 round brick online for $17 with shipping that costs less than our 9.1% tax rate. Versus $25-30+9.1% ($27-$32) in a LGS.

Best prices for 22LR in AZ are at Walmart, I think those are same prices country wide. Second best is Cabela's, but better then Wally when on sale. Been a while for me - I bought eight boxes of 525 Federal for $14.99 each at Cabs last year. Nothing close to that now. About $19 I think.

8 pounds of Unique powder is $118 + tax at Sportsman Whorehouse on north side of Phoenix. That is best price I have found unless go online, but then the hazmat fees will chew up saving.

I get bullets and primers from guys at USPSA club who buy bulk. But last time I looked at primer prices in Sportsman - 1000 Winchester for $35.99 + tax if I remember right.

To me, bricks are 500 rounds. But most are 500-550 because of the "added bonus" bologna. Id say a "box" is 50-100. A case would be a thousand and up? Everyone learns different lingo I suppose, and I should have been more specific.

Thanks CdnlnAz! Seems like prices in Arizona are pretty much the same as they are here, which is surprising and unfortunate. Shipping anything to Alaska is going to kill the wallet. But if I relocate I might be able to shop online again! Thanks for the help guys!

On the "Brick" question. .22's used to be sold in boxes of 50, neatly packed with 25 up and 25 down. (I guess you used the up ones for squirrels and the down ones for rabbits? ) Anyway, a brick was 10 of those boxes neatly packed and was the size, shape and weight of a house brick. Now, they just pour rounds into a box and sell them loose. I have no idea how many are in there!

Check online to see if the local Wally Worlds are carrying their bulk 1600rd, CCI Mini Mag 40gr CPRN in a plastic ammo box, for $98.00.
