so i bought a new toy
can't really consider it more than a a toy. pretty much its a toy for adults. i think many of us played with toy cap guns when we were little, and many of them were fashioned after the colt peacemaker. well yesterday i went and traded 2 rifles that i haven't used in a long time (sucks when you don't even see your own rifles in so long) for this not so little thing:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() its an uberti 1873 cattleman in .45lc. can't wait to get her to the range!

I traded a Marlin 917V (.17 HMR) rifle that I payed $159.00 for and a 1944 M38 Mosin Nagant that I payed $99 for. Letting the Marlin go didn't bother me much because I had only shot it on one occasion. It was a tight little shooter. The Mosin was a bit hard to walk away from because I had cleaned it up so good. The Marlin was just in a case under my bed, but I hadn't seen my own Mosin Nagant in 6 months because I was storing it in a friends gun safe 2 hours away from where I live. I just don't get to shoot any rifle where I live and these things weren't going to be used. I figure when I live somewhere where I can shoot a long gun again, I'll pick up another Mosin, probably in the sniper setup. If its a real sniper, I'll leave it as is. If its one of those many on the market that didn't start as a sniper and was made to be one, I'll clean it up to look pretty. But that will be some time. Right now I am restricted to the pistol range at work and the many indoor pistol ranges in my area of wich there are many. I know of 5 with-in a 20 minute driving distance. Thats 5 places I can shoot a pistol and 0 places to shoot a rifle. I am pretty damn happy with my trade and I can't wait to sling some lead with it! I'll let everybody know how well it shoots.
