I have a bunch of snakes. I cant figure out why. I have tons of garter snakes. I am sick of them. I have had 2 in my basement (those were actually baby milk snakes). I killed 3 out mowing the lawn the last time. I tried the leave them be approach but i am sick of them. Not quite as bad as the infested clip...but bad enough. I live in the woods and have to deal with it...

This is what I have.

Must have had a nest of them hatch this spring. Almost stepped on one while taking pictures of another one. Also have lizards, like a large salamander, I think they are called skanks. Found one skank in the house the cats were playing with. Picked it up and let it lose outside.

My last place had a bunch of skanks around it too. Was in a bad neighborhood though...
Better your mom than me, Bonehead. I'm glad I don't run into many. I'm convinced I actually have a phobia. My legs would have trembled, I'd have hyperventilated, ran like a screaming girl and cried in the safety of my living room while begging the wife to go kill it.

I'm not convinced snakes eat enough to control the smaller pests. And eventually I think they'll probably find a way into her house if it's starting to get cold at night. But I'm no expert either

I NEVER kill non-poisonous snakes...they eat mice and other pests and really do little harm.
Now a copperhead or cottonmouth....oh yes! That is what the 20ga is for!
Especially the cottonmouth....that is one mean and aggressive nasty snake.

Yea cotton mouths definitely are a "stand your ground snake". Copperheads are pretty bad too cause they will sometimes just freeze up and if there are a bunch of dead leaves on the ground you might not see it and step on it which is gonna be unpleasant for both u and the snake lol
