I'd spend a few bucks getting some tutoring on punctuation and grammar, before I spent anything on a pistol of any kind!

For the real cheap end you can get a Keltec P11. I like mine, but it's a crappy range gun.. horrible trigger
After that I'd probably try to get a police return Glock or M&P; you can find some used gen2 Glocks for pretty cheap.
I've heard good things about the Bersa Thunder line, though I've never used one myself.

I would stay cheap but still good, if new your going to have to pay $300.
Good value or inexpensive i would say can go all the way to high 500s.
Also if someone nails it with a good cheap suggestion, do you carry about mag zie, striker fired, da sa , poly or steel frame.
Also as someone else stated if your new to shooting over comming your inclination or current shootng style is not hard. It much cheaper in the long run to buy the gun you want or need, and shoot the right way.
This reminds me of guys i knew that played with that dad or brothers golf clubs because they thought they needed a 1500 set of clubs, and it jacked up their swing and muscle memory for a decade paying golf ages 14-18 with the wrong clubs. They would have been better off with some garage sale clubs the right size, or buying new a 3 wood, 9 iron, 5 iron and playing with that, and a used sand wedge.
Sometimes trying to save money costs you allot of money and allot of time.

$300-$500 is a decent price point. All the above are good options, and there are plenty more to be had in that range. As others have said, go to an LGS you trust and handle some. Of those, see what you can rent to shoot. Then, you'll have a good idea of what you really want.

Grammar Nazi?? LMAO!
It's funny that I can roll through pretty much whatever someone is expressing, and yet not to even notice or cross my mind.
